WAKU project will open “WAKU NARITA SANMONMAE” (379-1 Nakamachi, Narita City, Chiba Prefecture) on the main approach to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple.
In addition, Mr. Ebizo Ichikawa, who is scheduled to assume the name of Danjuro Ichikawa Shirasaru XIII, will be appointed as a brand advisor. The Ichikawa Danjuro family and Naritasan Shinshoji Temple have been linked by the belief in Naritasan Fudo Myoo since the Edo Genroku era, and have made pilgrimages to Naritasan at every milestone. Danjuro I often performed the role of Fudo Myoo, and the store name Naritaya is said to have originated at that time.
Japanese cuisine masters have been invited from Kyoto, a city associated with Kabuki, to offer a new traditional cuisine, “Waku Kaiseki,” utilizing local ingredients from Chiba, including the Boso Peninsula, which is rich in seafood and mountain produce. The restaurant will be open to the general public during lunchtime, offering a WAKU lunch and afternoon tea.
Rates start at 37,000 yen per person with half board.
