The Hawaii Tourism Authority, which is exhibiting at Tourism Expo Japan 2022 (September 22-25), is introducing the islands of the state of Hawaii under the theme of “Malama” (“caring” in Hawaiian).
The highlight of the event will be a special stage on which Hawaiian musicians and dancers are scheduled to perform on the 24th and 25th, which are open to the public, so that visitors can enjoy authentic performances without having to go to Hawaii.
Hawaii, which promotes responsible tourism, is working to encourage travelers to value the nature and culture that local residents protect. In front of the booth, a poster is displayed introducing each of the Hawaiian islands with a message that visitors are encouraged to become pono travelers (to be responsible travelers).
In addition to the famous coffee, chips and bottled products were also on display in the booth, along with a variety of “Made in Hawaii” products that have received the Hawaii state certification mark. There was also a display related to Shaka-chan, the official character of the booth, as well as digital signage that spoke Hawaiian and a crane game for 100 yen per game.
