Telecom Square, an exhibitor at Tourism Expo Japan 2022 (held September 22-25), is introducing WiFiBOX, an unattended mobile Wi-Fi router rental service for overseas customers launched in April.
The service is a mobile router version of the mobile battery rental service available at train stations and convenience stores. Both rental and return services are available on the spot by using a smartphone to read the QR code on the automated box and complete payment and other procedures.
Automatic boxes have been installed at Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, and Kansai International Airport, and are scheduled to be installed at other major international airports in the future. At present, the specifications are designed for use by individuals with credit card payments, but the company is also working on corporate support so that they can be used for business trips.
