Keihan Electric Railway will operate a cycle train on the Keihan and Otsu lines on November 5.
This is the first time it has been planned to operate on the Otsu Line, which has been planned multiple times since it was first operated in June. In addition to sightseeing in Uji and Arashiyama, a cycling route around Lake Biwa is also proposed in conjunction with “Biwaichi Week,” which falls on the same day. The Otsu Port Cycle Station, O-PORT-able, will also offer a limited service to deliver bicycles home on the day of the tour.
The Keihan Line Cycle Train operates between Nakanoshima and Nakashojima Stations (one-way trips only are available), departing from Nakashojima at 7:00 and from Nakashojima at 16:00. The capacity is 56 passengers each, and the fare is 1,500 yen one-way. The Otsu Line operates a one-way trip from Yotsumiya Station to Ishiyamadera Station, departing from Yotsumiya at 9:00 am. Capacity is 22 passengers and the price is 1,000 yen.
Applications will be accepted at Lawson Ticket from October 8 to November 1. Participants must be junior high school students or older and able to bring their own bicycles (bicycles will not be loaned).
