Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will release two “Flare Red” models on November 5 as the first 40th anniversary models of its shock-resistant “G-SHOCK” watches, representing powerful solar flares.
The “Flare Red MTG-B3000FR/GWG-2040FR” watch features a marble-patterned laminated bezel made of luminescent material that resembles the red color that symbolizes the G-Shock brand and the solar flares that are generated by powerful energy. The bezel is formed using a new method that involves layering sheets of colored fiberglass and sheets of carbon before cutting them into the shape of the bezel. The glass fiber sheets are mixed with luminescent particles, and the appearance of the layers varies depending on where the bezel is cut, so that each piece has its own unique texture.
In addition, the dial is also printed with a clear pattern that resembles a solar flare. The GWG-200FR is also mixed with luminescent particles in the forged carbon that connects the case to the band, so that the luminescent material appears randomly.
The MGT-B3000FR is priced at 165,000 yen and the GWG-2040FR at 143,000 yen.
