The Citizen, first model with indigo-dyed Japanese paper dial, to be released on November 17

Citizen Watch will release a model with an indigo-dyed Japanese paper dial from “The Citizen” on November 17.

The price is 880,000 yen for the model with Caliber 0100, an Eco-Drive movement with an annual difference of ±1 second, and 440,000 yen for the model with high-precision Eco-Drive movement with an annual difference of ±5 seconds.

The two new models with light-permeable Japanese paper dials will feature Tosa washi, which is dyed by fermenting a dye solution made from dye made from dye made from dye made from dye made from dye made from dried and fermented indigo leaves and wood ashes. This is the first time that Citizen has hand-dyed Japanese paper dials in the indigo color, also known as “Japan blue.

The Caliber 0100-equipped model is designed to evoke the system of ±1 second annual difference, with the second hand overlapping the minute when viewed from the front and the lugs of the case featuring a crystal motif. The super titanium case with “DuraTect Platinum,” a brightly colored surface hardening technology, is combined with LWG-certified alligator leather branding. From the back of the see-through back, one can view the movement with black ruthenium plating and stripe pattern.

In addition, the dial and crown are decorated with the eagle symbol.
