Tobu Railway to Conduct “Cycle Train” Demonstration Experiment in Nikko and Kinugawa Areas. Bicycles can be brought into the train without being folded.

Posted on 2022-11-022022-11-02 by Editor in Chief

Tobu Railway will begin a demonstration experiment on November 24 to introduce a “cycle train,” a service that allows passengers to bring their bicycles on board trains without folding them up, in the Nikko and Kinugawa areas. This verification experiment will be conducted on some trains between Tobu Nikko, Shimo-Imaichi, and Kinugawa Onsen Stations, and passengers will be able to get on and off at three stations: Tobu Nikko Station, Shimo-Imaichi Station, and Kinugawa Onsen Station.

Each person may bring up to one bicycle. Available on trains departing between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and can be brought into the first car in the up direction. Bicycles larger than 180 cm in length/45 cm in width, motorized bicycles, and bicycles without stands are not allowed. Application must be made at the station at least 30 minutes before departure. No additional fee is required.

During the demonstration period, inbound tourists will be invited to use the cycle train to experience the traditions, culture, and nature of the Nikko area while touring the area by bicycle.
