On November 10, Weathernews released the “Third Autumn Foliage Viewing Forecast.
Currently, the season is coming to an end in Tohoku, and in eastern and western Japan, the best viewing areas are shifting from the mountains to the plains.
Takao (Tokyo), Nametoko Gorge (Ehime), and Fukayabakei (Oita) are expected to be at their best this weekend.
Due to the expected cool morning temperatures necessary for coloring and the forecast of cooler temperatures mainly west of the Tokai region, the best viewing spots are expected to be on par with normal, while the best viewing spots on the plains are expected to be earlier than normal.
