Background and Objectives
The JICA Chair (JICA Support Program for Establishment of Japanese Studies Chair) supports the establishment of Japanese studies chairs at top universities in developing countries to provide opportunities to learn about Japan’s development experience in those countries. In Indonesia, the JICA Chair has been established in collaboration with the Nippon Foundation’s book donation project at the University of Indonesia as a partner university. In 2021, a special lecture by a JICA lecturer and a long-term series of JICA Chair lectures were held in Indonesia, with the JICA Chair credited as a regular lecture at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Indonesia.
