I stayed at “Tokyu Stay Mercure Osaka Namba”. Double-brand hotel with 288 functional rooms near the station.

Posted on 2022-12-05 by Editor in Chief

Tokyu Stay Mercure Osaka Namba is located a 4-5 minute walk from both Namba and Shinsaibashi stations on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. It is within walking distance of Dotonbori, the center of Osaka’s Minami district, and Shinsaibashi, lined with high-brand stores, making it a perfect location for business stays and sightseeing. A five-minute walk from Namba Station on the Midosuji Line, the hotel entrance is located between two buildings facing Midosuji Avenue. The hotel building itself is located a little further back from Midosuji. If you are not careful, you may pass by the entrance without noticing it. In fact, I went a little too far. There are two entrances to the hotel, one facing Midosuji and the other on the alley side a little further in from Midosuji. Walking toward the entrance from the Midosuji side, one suddenly encounters green trees. And when you step into the building, you will see greenery covering the entire wall. The green pod wall that serves as the face of the lobby extends all the way to the atrium, and LEDs are embedded in the green pods, welcoming guests with a green and light effect. The interior of the hotel has a chic, black-based appearance, and is decorated throughout with objects and artwork reminiscent of the hotel’s “artist’s atelier” concept.

Rooms are decorated in black. Six types of rooms are equipped with a washer/dryer, microwave oven, and mini-kitchen. I stayed in the most standard room, “Superior Queen Living Room. The rooms are tastefully decorated in black with artwork. In the center of the room is a queen-size bed (170 x 200 cm) that was specially ordered by Tokyu Stay. In addition, a washer/dryer and a microwave oven are stored in the room so as not to clutter the room design, and a large storage space is available for long-term guests with a lot of luggage. In addition, the bathroom and toilet are separated, making a long stay a stress-free experience.

The flagship room of Tokyu Stay Mercure Osaka Namba is the “Duplex Suite,” one of only 288 premium rooms in the hotel. It is a maisonette-type corner room with a large atrium window from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of Osaka Namba. Speaking of enjoying the view, the “Premium Twin” is another unique room. Three of the 288 rooms are available, and the balcony room in particular offers a sense of spaciousness without the claustrophobic feeling of being cut off from the outside world that is often associated with hotel rooms. The views are also spectacular, making these rooms the perfect place to relax and enjoy the night scenery.
