JR West Food Service Net will start selling two types of original ekiben from July 1 to coincide with the “Hyogo Destination Campaign Pre-Campaign” (Hyogo Pre-DC) to be held from July to September 2022 prior to the “Hyogo Destination Campaign” to be held in 2023. The stores selling them will be in Kyoto, Shin-Osaka, and Shin-Kyoto. They will be sold at “Tabibento” at Kyoto, Shin-Osaka, Osaka, and Shin-Kobe stations, as well as at Awajiya and Maneki Shokuhin directly-managed stores.
One is “Hyogo Nichiwa” produced by Awajiya. It is inspired by the eastern part of Hyogo Prefecture and features white rice balls resembling Mt. Rokko and Japanese sweets resembling the bamboo grass on Mt. The price is 1,250 yen.
The other “Hyogo Tamatebako Bento” is manufactured by Maneki Foods. It combines rice cooked in the broth of the company’s “Ekisoba” noodles, which are known for their unique noodle flavor, with traditional ingredients such as Tajima beef stew, Tanba black soybeans, and onions from Awaji Island, and is priced at 1,280 yen.
