Tokyo Disney Resort will hold the grand opening of a new theme port, Fantasy Springs, at Tokyo DisneySea on June 6. A completion ceremony was held today, 50 days before the opening.
At the dedication ceremony, Toshio Kagami, Oriental Land Representative Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors, offered a Shinto offering, and Yumiko Takano, Representative Director and Chairman (and CEO), and Kenji Yoshida, Representative Director and President (and COO), expressed their gratitude to all concerned.
Fantasy Springs is themed “The Magical Fountain Leads to the World of Disney Fantasy,” and consists of three areas based on Disney movies: Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Neverland, as well as one hotel, the Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel. The theme is “The World of Disney Fantasy” and will consist of three areas based on Disney films: Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Neverland.
The plan was announced in June 2018 as a large-scale Tokyo DisneySea expansion project; development has been underway for about five years since construction began in May 2019. The largest total development area of approximately 140,000 m2 since Tokyo DisneySea opened, with a total investment of approximately 320 billion yen.
