JR Tokai and JR West will operate the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen Nozomi bullet trains (between Tokyo and Hakata) with all reserved seats (no nonreserved seats) during Golden Week in 2024. This service will be available for 11 days from April 26 to May 6.
By eliminating the non-reserved seats normally provided in cars 1-3, more people can make reservations and be seated without having to wait for long periods of time at platforms and other locations. It is necessary to make reservations and purchase reserved seats in advance through the “EX Service” or at stations.
As in the past, the “Nozomi 12 train schedule” will continue to be used between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka, with an increase in the number of trains that directly connect to the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines. Also, during the GW period, one or two Nozomi trains (29 trains in total) per day will be operated in the “Car with Children” category. The tickets can be purchased at “EX Service,” stations, and travel agency counters in the same way as other tickets.
