Fukui Prefecture will implement the “Fukui de De Deals Present Campaign” as a measure to stimulate travel demand by dispersing visitors who tend to concentrate on weekends and national holidays to weekdays.
One in two visitors who stay at a lodging facility in the prefecture on weekdays will receive 10,000 yen worth of “FUKUI HAPI COINS,” a digital local currency that can be used at souvenir stores and restaurants, and local products such as Echizen lacquerware and Echizen pottery. (The lottery will end when the lottery tickets distributed at each facility run out).
The campaign applies to trips that include at least one weekday (Monday-Friday) night, but “minshuku” facilities will also offer the campaign on Saturdays and Sundays, and everyone who misses out will receive a commemorative gift.
