Seaside Oyado Ikkyu (1-10-29 Yunohama, Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture), an all-room ocean-view hot spring inn run by proprietress Juku, is offering a June-only plan with five special offers to coincide with the cherry harvest season. Prices start at 19,800 yen per night with two meals (per person per room for two persons).

Yamagata Prefecture, a fruit kingdom, is one of the top producers of cherries in Japan. The plan includes a welcome drink “cherry cider” made from locally grown cherries that will be in season soon, dinner with aperitif “cherry sake” and breakfast with dessert “cherry jelly,” a “cherry headband” to enjoy commemorative photos, and “cherry picking at tourist farm Rihei Sakuma at a Discounted price” will be offered.

During your stay, you can also enjoy the view of the Sea of Japan and the sunset from the open-air bath with free-flowing Yunohama hot spring water, all rooms facing the sea, the lobby, the dining room, and everywhere else in the hotel. The meals are kaiseki meals prepared with local ingredients, and include seasonal seafood dishes and a main dish of grilled Yamagata beef on a ceramic plate in the evening.
