Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo (1-1-7 Kasuga-cho, Nerima-ku, Tokyo), which opened in June 2023 on the former site of Toshimaen in Tokyo’s Nerima Ward, will soon celebrate its one-year anniversary with a “First Anniversary” event. The one-month event will run from June 16 to July 15.

On June 10, a “Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo 1st Anniversary Event” was held in the Great Hall of Hogwarts with special guests and 200 invited fans as a pre-event.

First to appear as a special guest was Harry Sugiyama, a TV personality and big Harry Potter fan. He was dressed as Principal Dumbledore and served as MC for the day.

The special guests who took the stage after Harry Sugiyama’s welcome announcement were voice actor Kensho Ono, who has voiced Harry throughout the series, and actor Mizuki Yamamoto, who is a big Harry Potter fan. Both were dressed in Gryffindor dormitory robes.

Asked about his memories of the Studio Tour Tokyo, which is celebrating its first anniversary, Ono talked about the opening ceremony one year ago. He spoke fondly of an episode in the waiting room with Tom Felton (played by Draco Malfoy), who was visiting Japan.

Mizuki Yamamoto, who became a fan of Harry Potter after reading the original novels, said she was such a big fan that she “imposed a rule on myself that I had to read all the books on the day they were released. I was in elementary school at the time, so I was really frustrated that I couldn’t enter Hogwarts,” she recalled from her childhood. I was so frustrated.

A large anniversary cake celebrating the first anniversary then appeared on the stage. Ono-san and Yamamoto-san’s incantation to start a fire, “Incendio! lit the candles behind them.

At the end of the first anniversary event, Ono, Yamamoto, Harry Sugiyama and 200 fans recreated the famous scene depicted in the ending of the first movie, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” in which the wizard’s hat is thrown to the ceiling.

Studio Tour Tokyo (Mr. Ono), 1st Anniversary (Mr. Yamamoto), Se~no. (Harry Sugiyama) Congratulations! (Mr. Harry Sugiyama) Congratulations! (all of them),” everyone threw their wizard’s black hats in unison for the finale, which was met with loud applause.
