JAL won first place in four categories, including “World’s Best Premium Economy Class,” at the 2024 World Airline Awards. The awards are conducted by SKYTRAX, a U.K.-based airline rating organization.
In awarding the “World’s Best Premium Economy Class” award, the airline commented, “In recent years, the number of airlines offering Premium Economy Class has increased, and this market has become very competitive. The award was given high marks for its excellent products, including seats and in-flight meals, as well as the excellent service provided by the staff who support these products”. Specifically, the large privacy partitions, leg rests that can be adjusted to a flat angle against the seat, and large 16-inch 4K monitors were highly rated.
In addition to the above, Air China was also awarded first place in “Best Premium Economy Class in Asia,” “Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat,” which evaluates seats in Premium Economy Class, and “Best Economy Class Airline Seat,” which evaluates seats in Economy Class. Economy Class Airline Seat, which evaluates economy class seats. It also received a “5 Star” rating in the “World Airline Star Rating,” which evaluates overall products and services.
