On June 28, Pokémon Co., Ltd. concluded a partnership agreement with Nagasaki Prefecture. The agreement includes such activities as promotion of attractiveness, regional revitalization, promotion of prefectural products, and support for children and child-rearing, and the two companies will work together to promote these activities.
In conjunction with this, Denryu became the “Nagasaki Future Support Pokémon. Denryu was chosen because it is a light Pokémon with a tail that emits light that reaches far and wide, and because it matches Nagasaki Prefecture, where foreign ships used to visit and where there are many lighthouses.
In addition to installing manhole covers “Pocket Lids” featuring Denryu throughout the prefecture, Nagasaki Electric Railway’s streetcars (from June 28) and Saihi Motors’ highway buses (from June 30) will operate Denryu-wrapped vehicles. In addition, “Denryu’s Nagasaki sponge cake” made in collaboration with Bunmeido Sohonten will be on sale.
In addition to further development of collaborative products, plans for rally projects and meet-and-greet events with Denryu are also in the works, and will be announced in due course.
