JR East will open the entire PLATFORM13 video projection system at Ueno Station’s Line 13 on August 1.
The facilities have been completed since the partial opening in January, and video content is projected over a 100-meter stretch of the platform wall. Speakers and power supply facilities have also been installed to accommodate a variety of productions.
As the first phase, from August 1 to 25, an original video of the manga and movie “Blue Period” will be projected. During the period, other locations will also be decorated, and a stamp rally will be held at nearby commercial facilities.
In the fall, a projection of trains that have arrived at and departed from Ueno Station and artwork of train names by calligraphers are also planned.
