Foilza (1-30-4 Moriyama, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture) will launch a program on August 9 to allow visitors to learn and experience the process of producing rimmed gold leaf, which has been registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Three courses are available: the “Light Plan” (1,500 yen), which can be easily enjoyed for 20 to 30 minutes; the “Standard Plan” (5,000 yen) for 60 to 70 minutes; and the “Master Plan” (15,000 yen) for 90 to 100 minutes with direct instruction from a foil artisan. Only the Master Plan is scheduled to start in October.

All plans are composed of a selection of highlight processes from among the many processes of gold leaf production, and instructors will guide visitors to learn not only the experience but also the history and background of gold leaf as part of their knowledge about gold leaf.

All plans require advance reservations, and reservations and inquiries can be made by phone.
