NIPPONIA HOTEL Nara Naramachi An eight-minute walk south from Kintetsu Nara Station. The destination is a large old private house hotel that stands as if it were blending into the streets of Naramachi, a town that evokes a sense of time. The main building, rice warehouse, and inner warehouse were renovated with minimal repairs to the beams and plaster walls, and all eight guest rooms were renovated. The hotel is based on the concept of a “sake hotel” since Nara is said to be the birthplace of sake, and offers various sake experiences such as a sake-kasu (sake lees) bath and a sake brewery tour, as well as a stay in an old Japanese house. The restaurant offers a variety of sake experiences, such as sake-kasu baths and sake brewery tours, as well as a dining room where guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner, all prepared with an awareness of local production for local consumption and in pursuit of a perfect marriage with sake. For lunch and dinner, French cuisine is served as “Restaurant Rouen,” which is also available to non-guests. Sake from the Toyosawa Sake Brewery can be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere. Once you step into the hotel, you can still see traces of the sake brewery days everywhere and feel the weight of the hotel’s history. Although the passageways and entrances may seem narrow from a modern perspective, the thickness of the pillars and beams, and the alcove and transom furnishings allow you to fully appreciate the splendor of Japanese architecture. The atmosphere is nostalgic for me as an old man, but I wonder how the younger generation will perceive it.

The “Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen Internet Reservation & Ticketless Boarding Service” by JR Tokai offers “EX Travel Destination Reservation,” which allows seamless reservation of sightseeing plans, hotels, etc. at travel destinations. The service is available only to EX members, but it is a convenient service that allows users to make a reservation for accommodations, sightseeing plans, car rentals, sightseeing cabs, etc., and make a payment with a credit card registered for the EX service, without having to make a reservation and payment on each site. The following plans are available for this campaign. Evening off-hours private viewing of Kofuku-ji’s Chukondo Hall and awarding of red seal impression books using a meticulous book.
