KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will offer “unlimited au overseas” service on UQ mobile from October 29.
This service is available by applying through the “Overseas Smartphone Use” application, and allows unlimited data communications at a fixed rate in more than 160 countries and regions. This service has been offered for au smartphones, but now UQ mobile is also eligible for this service.
The basic rate is 1,200 yen per 24 hours, but if a reservation is made within Japan at least one hour prior to the start of use, a “reservation discount” of 1,000 yen (800 yen in some areas of Asia and North America) is available.
The “Global Flat-rate Data” service, which was previously offered, will cease to be accepted as of October 29.
