Third “Pensta” store specializing in Suica penguins to open at Omiya Station on October 17.

JR East Cross Station Development Company will open a Suica penguin-themed merchandise store “Pensta” at Ecute Omiya North, an eco-friendly commercial facility located inside the north ticket gates of JR Omiya Station, on October 17. Following the Ecute Ueno store (Ueno store), which was revived last fall for the first time in five years, and the Lumine Est Shinjuku store (Shinjuku store), which opened in March 2024, the Ecute Omiya North store (Omiya store) will be the third store to open. The store features a lineup of more than 300 goods in total, including railroad motifs inspired by “Omiya, City of Railways” and motifs of local specialties typical of Omiya. In addition, items exclusive to the Omiya store will be available, including T-shirts with designs of “SL-Suica’s Penguin” and “train headmark-style Suica’s Penguin”.

Novelties to commemorate the opening of the Omiya store to be given when shopping at the store At the Omiya store, one “limited edition sticker” (first 2,000 customers) will be given for every purchase of 2,000 yen or more including tax using Suica or other transportation system electronic money. For purchases of 10,000 yen or more including tax, one “limited organic cotton pouch” will be given away (first 300 customers). At the Shinjuku store, one “limited edition sticker” (first 2,000 customers) will be given for every purchase of 2,000 yen or more, including tax, with transportation-related electronic money. Both will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from the opening on October 17, and will end as soon as they are gone.
