Five companies including Kita Osaka Kyuko Railway, Sumitomo Mitsui Card, Visa Worldwide Japan, JCB, and QUADRAC will start a boarding service at all Kita Osaka Kyuko Railway stations using cards that support touch payment.
The service will start in March 2025, utilizing Sumitomo Mitsui Card’s “stera transit” solution for public transportation, which allows passengers to board trains with touch-sensitive credit and debit cards, as well as smartphones with the card installed. One automatic ticket gate machine equipped with a dedicated reader will be provided at each ticket gate.
The company also plans to introduce a QR code-based ticket service at the same time, and will announce the specific timing of the service introduction at a later date.
The touch payment history can be checked by going through the My Page membership registration procedure from QUADRAC’s Q-move website.
