Tokyo Metro and Yamaha will introduce “Mieru-Announce” at 171 Tokyo Metro stations after April 2025.
Mieru-Announce” is a service that allows users to view station announcements as text from their smartphones, and is available in multiple languages. It can be used by touching the terminal or using the “trigger board” to read the QR code, and does not require an application to be installed.
The system was introduced on a trial basis in January, and in anticipation of the Deaflympics, an athletic event for the hearing impaired, to be held in Tokyo, the company decided to introduce the system. All stations except those managed by other companies, such as Nakameguro and Wakoichi stations, will be covered by the system.
