Meisei Kikaku and Qualia will sequentially release “Colorful Beko Piggy Bank 2,” a local capsule toy limited to the Tohoku region, from November 13. The price is 600 yen per unit.
The previous piggy bank, based on the motif of Fukushima Prefecture’s local toy “Akabeko,” became a hit product, selling over 100,000 units, so the lineup was changed and renewed as the second version.
There are a total of six types: red beko, wakakusa beko, wisteria beko, azure beko, orange beko, and secret color, and they feature a matte texture and vivid color scheme. Since they are capsule-less products, each one is approximately 10 cm wide when assembled, and can hold more than 50 100-yen coins inside.
It can be assembled just like a plastic model, and is recommended to be used as a piggy bank or displayed in a room as interior decoration.
Sold at service areas, roadside stations, station kiosks, tourist attraction kiosks, hotel and inn kiosks, supermarkets, and convenience stores in the Tohoku region.
