U.S.J. Corp. announced the opening of the new “Donkey Kong Country” area at Universal Studios Japan on December 11. The company also unveiled the inside of the area’s symbolic “Golden Shinden” and the coaster cars and ride boarding area of the new “Donkey Kong’s Crazy Trolley” ride attraction located there.

Donkey Kong Country is a “Super Nintendo World” expansion area themed around the Donkey Kong video game series, which is highly popular worldwide. The Golden Shinden is a structure that appeared as a game stage, and inside, visitors can feel the air of the mysterious ruins with their whole body, as if they have entered the world of Donkey Kong.

The new ride attraction, Donkey Kong’s Crazy Trolley, features a new ride system and unique design that allows riders to jump out of tars, dodge and jump over obstacles while running a rickety track, and other wild rides throughout the jungle.

Universal Creative/Producer Daniel Greer said of Donkey Kong Country, “You can enter with your whole body into the tropical landscapes seen in the video game series and explore landmarks such as the ‘Golden Shinden’ deep in the jungle, which can actually be explored in the real world. Donkey Kong’s Crazy Trolley, meanwhile, “offers an unpredictable experience with a new and innovative coaster design.
