JR West “Via Inn Prime Kumamoto (tentative name)” to open in summer 2026. 3-minute walk from Shinkansen station, 232 rooms in total.

On December 3, JR West Japan Via-inn and JR West Japan Dairy Service Net announced that “Via-inn Prime Kumamoto (tentative name)” (Kasuga 2-chome, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture) is scheduled to open in summer 2026. This will be the second Via Inn Hotels property to open in Kyushu.

The hotel is a 3-minute walk from Kumamoto Station on the Kyushu Shinkansen and JR local lines, and is conveniently located for sightseeing in the city, including “Kumamoto Castle,” “Shimodori and Kamidori arcades,” and “Suizenji Park. The hotel is recommended as a base for both business and leisure travel to the surrounding industrial cities, Aso and Amakusa, and all of Kumamoto Prefecture.

The hotel will be a 10-story building with a total of 232 guest rooms. The hotel will have a lobby and guest rooms with a warm design decorated with water and nature, a large bathroom with a silky bath, and a business lounge.
