JR Tokai will hold events to coincide with the retirement of the Type 923 T4 train, also known as “Doctor Yellow,” in January 2025 or later.

As the first event, “Learn the job of keeping safety” will be held on January 24! The first event is a one-way ride on the Doctor Yellow (T4 train) between Shinagawa and Shin-Osaka Stations. The event is a one-way ride between Shinagawa and Shin-Osaka stations, with a maximum capacity of 50 people (12 pairs of 1 person, 10 pairs of 2 persons, and 6 pairs of 3 persons). The fee is 39,000 yen per person (same price for children), and applications will be accepted from December 12 to 28 via the website.

The second event will be held on February 1, “Otsukare-sama! Doctor Yellow (T4 train) Cleaning Experience Event” on February 1. Visitors can experience washing the body of Doctor Yellow at the Oi Rail Yard and take pictures of the bullet trains lined up at the yard. A total of six sessions will be held, with a total capacity of 200 people. The fee is 2,000 yen (half price for children). Applications will be accepted from December 16 to 22 via the website.

In addition, a “Boss Jean” in collaboration with Suntory’s “BOSS” will be given away to 30 people drawn from those who enter via the TOKAI STATION POINT application. The Boss jacket comes with a badge made of recycled aluminum from the body of the T4 train. In addition to the Boss Jean, 10,000 people will also receive a “Craft Boss” exchange coupon by drawing, and the application period is from January 14 to February 10.
