Amazon (Amazon Japan) is having a time sale on the Fire HD 8 Kids model (available in 2024).
Three colors are available: blue, grape, and Disney Princess, and each is available in two types: body only or with protective film.
The Blue Grape and Disney Princess models are available at 12,980 yen (body only) and 14,560 yen (with protective film), respectively, for a 7,000 yen discount from the reference price.
The 2024 model has a new 5 megapixel rear camera. It has the same 6-core processor as the previous model, a battery that can be used for up to 13 hours, and a new 3GB/4GB RAM that allows users to comfortably enjoy video content and games on the go. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card (sold separately).
It comes with a two-year limited warranty and can be returned or replaced free of charge if broken. A one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, a subscription service that provides unlimited access to thousands of children’s content, is also included, offering books, videos, learning apps, games, and more for ages 3-12.
Most recently, with the cooperation of Disney Publishing, a total of 105 educational videos from Disney and Marvel have been added. Seventy-three of these titles are being released for the first time in Japan.
