New Year’s Message: Shingo Tsuji, President, Mori Building

Posted on 2025-01-062025-02-06 by Editor in Chief

This is the year to think about the future of Mori Building from a new horizon.

We will combine the ideas and efforts of each and every one of our employees to create a new international metropolis that only Mori Building can realize.

Mori Building Co.

President and Representative Director

Shingo Tsuji

The year 2025 is “the year to think about the future of Mori Building from a new horizon.

Last year, we opened almost all of the facilities in Azabudai Hills and Toranomon Hills, and undertook various initiatives to get the town back on track. We faced many challenges along the way, but we overcame them together through trial and error, and by the end of the year, both Hills were beginning to look more and more like the town we had envisioned. The world’s opinion of Mori Building has been growing ever more positive, and the company’s stage has changed dramatically in terms of its financial strength, organizational capabilities, employee abilities, company brand power, and the potential of the area. However, as the stage has risen, the hurdles to overcome and the level required of us have become even higher. We have to narrow down our wisdom and think more broadly and deeply than ever before.

We have a great group of partners and tenants in all of the Hills we operate. We will play a key role in developing a variety of mechanisms and systems that will further involve and integrate our partners and the people of the city. Another very important theme for the future of Mori Building is to effectively link multiple Hills. If the Hills are connected, our strategic areas will become unrivaled, and individual Hills will evolve even further. I would like to see Mori Building go beyond the boundaries of divisions and facilities, and combine the ideas and efforts of each and every employee to create a new international metropolis that only Mori Building can realize.

The next “Roppongi 5-chome Project” is an extremely difficult project, and it is also difficult to determine the construction cost and construction period. We will continue to work out the details of the project plan one by one while building consensus among right holders. The “Toranomon 3-chome Project” will also be promoted with the aim of submitting an urban planning proposal next year. Overseas, we purchased a portion of “One Vanderbilt Avenue” in New York last year, and will continue to consider investment opportunities, including development projects.

In these uncertain and rapidly changing times, one thing is certain: the status quo has no future. Companies either grow or decline, and maintaining the status quo is the most difficult. In other words, a “growth strategy” is our only option. In order to continue to grow, we have no choice but to take on new and unprecedented challenges, and that is what makes Mori Building what it is. From the “new horizon” that we have finally attained after all our hard work, let us think about the future of Mori Building, take on challenges in our own unique way, and grow in our own unique way.
