Mitsui Fudosan will reopen Haimurubushi (2930 Aza Kohama, Taketomi-cho, Yaeyama-gun, Okinawa), currently undergoing major renovation, on July 15. Reservations will be accepted from February 26.
This hotel opened in 1979 on Kohama Island, located in the center of the Yaeyama Islands, where guests can experience the beautiful nature and marine activities of Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park.
After the renovation, a new 330m2, two-tiered “Main Pool” was built along the beach with five cabanas and sun loungers on the poolside. There is also a children’s pool area in the main pool with a depth of approximately 60 cm.
The newly built Quiet Pool, sauna and spa buildings are also scheduled to open in August. The 155m2 Quiet Pool has an age limit and a pool bar. It will operate as a hot pool during the winter and can be enjoyed year-round. The age limit is 16 years and older, but under 16 years old can use the pool during certain winter hours from December to February. The sauna building is the first in Japan to adopt the “sauna block” supervised by TTNE, a sauna creative group, and features a dynamic panoramic view.
The center house (former center building) will be redecorated, and “The Buffet,” a buffet restaurant offering Western, Japanese, and Okinawan cuisine, will feature a live kitchen serving egg dishes and island pizza baked in an oven using ingredients from the Yaeyama Islands.
At “The Steak & Grill,” guests can enjoy steaks made from Japanese black wagyu beef and seafood platters made from local seafood. A library lounge and “The Lounge & Bar,” where guests can enjoy a view unique to Haimurubushi, have also been created.
Some rooms have been converted to 40m2 “Garden Terrace Premium Rooms” with a private garden in an accommodation building featuring Ryukyu red tiles. With the use of in-room daybeds, up to 5 people can be accommodated.
In addition to activities such as diving, snorkeling, and remote island sightseeing, the new experience will include harvesting plants unique to the Yaeyama Islands and enjoying the aroma and taste of freshly picked plants, pool SUP, and meditation. They say that visitors can enjoy the rich natural surroundings and the World Natural Heritage site of Iriomote Island more fully than ever before.
All of the above various details and reservations are scheduled to begin in April.
To celebrate the renewal, the hotel will offer a special plan for a limited time and number of rooms for all guest rooms, with 15,000 yen worth of resort credit per room per stay, which can be used for restaurant and spa treatments.
