NEXCO West Japan will reopen the store building at Kita-Kumamoto SA (off-road) on the Kyushu Expressway on March 27.
The interior and exterior of the store expresses the great nature of Aso with natural colors and materials. The shopping corner has a Seven-Eleven convenience store, and the sales floor area is approximately four times larger than before. The sales floor features a selection of souvenirs, such as strawberry caramel sandwich cookies and Musha-return chocolates.
The food court features local cuisine such as Kumamoto ramen and dagojiru (dago soup), as well as a menu featuring local ingredients such as grilled red beef on top of a bowl of rice. A bakery corner has also been newly established.
In addition, the pork cutlet specialty restaurant “Katsuya” will open its first store in NEXCO West Japan service area, and the Creative Lab Kitakumamoto project will introduce seasonal goods and activities.
As an opening service for users, the first 100 customers who visit the store from 8:00 a.m. when it opens will receive a brown sugar donut stick in a limited expressway package, a rush coaster, an Ad Touch sticker for smartphones, a hand towel, and an assortment of bottled drinks (water). In addition, the first 100 shoppers to arrive at the shopping corner will receive an ikinari dango from Hanamaru-do.
