Tokaido Shinkansen to Offer “Cars with Children” during GW. 2 to 4 trains a day each on the Tokyo – Shin-Osaka “Nozomi” up and down trains.

Posted on 2025-03-072025-04-12 by Editor in Chief

JR Tokai will operate Nozomi Car No. 12 (reserved seats) on the Tokaido Shinkansen “Nozomi” as a “car with children” during the GW period (April 26, 27, 29, and May 2-6).

The “Carriages with Children” are sold during busy periods so that passengers with children can board without worrying about their surroundings, and were redesigned from the “Carriages with Children Only” in GW 2024.

A total of 46 one-way trips, two to four per day, will be operated between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka during the hours when many passengers are expected to travel between the two cities, such as on family trips or when going home.

The applicable trains are subject to change according to the operation plan, and “seats with oversized luggage space” and “seats with oversized luggage corners” will not be provided.

Seat reservations are accepted from 10:00 a.m. one month prior to the boarding date at Express Reservations, Smart EX, ticket counters at stations and travel agencies, and reserved-seat ticket vending machines, etc. Reservations made one year in advance for EX service are not eligible.
