Walt Disney Japan will open the Disney Store Okayama AEON MALL Store at AEON MALL Okayama (1-2-1 Shimoishii, Kita-ku, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture) on April 22.
The new store features a warm and inviting space inspired by a picture book brought to life by the magic of Disney. At the entrance, guests will be greeted by a Mickey Mouse statue dressed as the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
The store will feature artwork of Disney characters created by the legendary “Nine Old Men” animators. There will also be photo booths with Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh.
The lineup includes approximately 1,200 items, the most noteworthy of which are store-exclusive items. The most notable of these items are limited-edition items available only at the store. Since Momotaro is an old tale from Okayama, the store offers plush toys (3,800 yen) and plush keychains (2,800 yen) of Momotaro, a monkey, a pheasant, and Disney characters dressed up as ogres.
The visuals are unintentionally charming, such as the famous kibidango dumplings in their hands and the shimashimari demon pants and gold bars.
In addition, a present campaign will be held to celebrate the grand opening. Purchases of 5,000 yen or more including tax will receive an original tote bag designed exclusively for the Okayama AEON MALL store. The store will also distribute a limited edition store card to those who wish to receive one. In addition, a campaign offering five times the points of the Disney Store Club will be held until April 24.
On the day of the grand opening, reservations to visit the Disney Store using the Disney Store Club App are required. Details will be announced on the Disney Store news page at a later date.
