Tokyo Bay Aqualine expands the range of ETC time zone tolls on weekends and holidays from April 1. Up to 1,600 yen for the uplink and 1,000 yen for the downlink.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Chiba Prefecture, and NEXCO East Japan have announced toll rates for the Tokyo Bay Aqualine from April 1 to March 31, 2026.

In response to severe traffic congestion during certain hours on weekends and holidays, Aqua-Line is conducting a social experiment to disperse traffic by introducing a time-based toll system for ETC starting July 22, 2023.

Weekday ETC tolls (800 yen for a standard car, 640 yen for a mini car, etc.) will be maintained at the current level regardless of the time of day (0:00 to 24:00) on both the up and down lines until March 31, 2028.

As announced on December 4, 2024, ETC tolls on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays will be divided into tiers by time of day, with a minimum of 400 yen and a maximum of 1,600 yen (for standard vehicles) for the uplink route. The tolls will also be introduced for the off-ramp routes, ranging from a minimum of 400 yen to a maximum of 1,000 yen (for standard-sized vehicles).
