Hulic Fufu will reopen ATAMI Kaimine-Ro (8-33 Kasuga-cho, Atami, Shizuoka) on December 28.
ATAMI Kaifengro is a four-room hotel featuring Kengo Kuma’s “Water/Glass” artwork, in which a glass box seems to float in water. 27 years after its completion in 1995, the hotel has been undergoing renovation since summer.
The two luxury suites, “Seiha” and “Fuka”, have a new interior design that expresses water/glass. In Seiha, large-sized wave-patterned tiles are placed on the floor, allowing guests to feel the infinity basin and Sagami Bay seen through the glass windows on the walls. In the Wind Department, an original carpet with the image of splashing waves expresses water and glass.
In addition, Seinami and Kazashina have newly introduced natural hot springs from Atami, allowing guests to enjoy private outdoor hot springs anytime. The spring is a sodium-calcium-chloride spring.
Rates start at 93,800 yen per night with two meals, double occupancy.
In addition, “Japanese Cuisine Raku Seian” will open in mid-January 2023, limited to two groups per day. The space is surrounded by a gold folding screen of pine trees and waves painted by Tokuriki Tomikichiro, a print artist active from the Meiji to Heisei eras.
